The Virgin Trains Booking Application is a new take on their existing booking software used by agents located in train stations across the UK. The original software was being retired along with its long list of third party add-ons that had been collected over the years. Our goal was to give them a fresh, clean, intuitive all-in-one solution that exudes awesomeness—as Virgin’s mission states—but, this time, behind the counter.
ROLE: Both through on-site discovery sessions and shadowing agents during live day-to-day transactions, I was able to conceptualize the desired overall experience for this high-profile client. I created the necessary wireframes, user flows, user interface designs, and instructional animations before building HTML/CSS templates while worked closely with developers on both sides to maintain integrity of the experience. This project in particular was very labor-intensive, but also so fulfilling as the end result was a modern and intuitive product that solved the long-standing booking needs of the Virgin agents.
